GOOD NEWS ABOUT MULCHING YOUR YARD

Your Board of Directors, in working with our new landscaper Yellowstone, has discovered a hidden gem in our contract. This is an upgrade from our previous landscape contract with Brightview. Every fall and spring, common areas and unit front and some side yards will receive mulching by the Yellowstone crew. The mulch will be brown hardwood mulch, and will be paid for by our contract with Yellowstone. Mulching is currently planned for the week after Thanksgiving.
There is an opt-out provision for those owners who for some reason do not want mulch in their front yards, such as those who prefer red or black mulch, have no mulch in their yards, or who have recently mulched their yards. Mulching of front yards will be at the discretion of Yellowstone crews, and will include mulching around bushes surrounding the unit buildings, mulching between units, and mulching large areas of front yards that are showing dirt and/or tree roots.
TO OPT OUT: Please contact Pioneer (Paul Meisler: paul@pioneeraustin.com)
NO LATER THAN November 15, so that Yellowstone will skip your unit.
Please understand that there are no rebates to units who do not receive mulch. The main purpose of this part of our contract is to enhance the attractiveness of our neighborhood, particularly in the common areas – outside our walls on Waymaker Way and Canonero, around the trees in the inner loop greenbelt, etc. Availability of mulch for neighbors is a nice side effect of this part of the contract. (Note: no mulch will be available for owners’ backyards.)
Some owners have been notified, before we learned about this part of our contract, that they need mulch to come into compliance with the Front Yard Policy later this month. This mulch will fulfill that requirement.
The Board is happy for this development, and hope you are too. Owners may plan for complimentary mulching every spring and fall for the next several years, as long as Yellowstone is our landscaper.
Happy Holidays!
