KEEPING YOUR MAIL SAFER

Davenport Rim Residents - You may be aware that the mail hut for a neighboring sub-association - across the street at the intersection of Waymaker Way and Riva Ridge Road - was broken into a few weeks ago and mail was stolen. While the thieves may have had a master key, this incident is one of several in which mail has been stolen in our greater neighborhood in this part of Austin.

The Board of Directors feels that the chances of our mail being stolen is rather low based upon the limited access to our community, and with a smaller road. However, to allay some fears, we have chosen to post two cameras and a warning sign at the mail hut, to deter some degree of mail theft.

The Board also suggests that you check your mail daily. This will reduce the chance of large amounts of mail being stolen. If you are going on vacation, you may also wish to contact USPS through its website to place a hold on your mail. It can be delivered to your mailbox on the day you return, thereby making your mail safer.

As usual, please report any suspicious activity and vehicles in the neighborhood through our community website on Next Door. If you aren't signed up for it yet, go to nextdoor.com, under "Davenport Rim Community".
